Standard push notifications, too

Beyond Live Activities, the same API delivers full iOS push notifications — rich layout, image attachments, action and snooze buttons, custom sender icons, iMessage-style chat bubbles, and notifications the sender takes back once they no longer apply.Beyond Live Updates, the same API sends full Android notifications: action buttons and inline replies, snooze buttons, alerts that stay until someone acknowledges them, notifications the sender takes back once they no longer apply, and approvals a script can wait on, like this production deploy.

Push live data to your Home and Lock Screen from any HTTP source — no polling, no waiting. Tap a widget to fire a webhook, start a job, or open another app, without launching PushWard.Register a widget once and PATCH its value whenever it changes. The home screen updates without opening the app.

Home Assistant, like the Companion app

Install the PushWard integration from HACS and your automations get the notification features you know from the Home Assistant Companion app.

Now on Apple Watch

The PushWard companion app brings your Live Activities, notifications, and widgets to your wrist — paired to your iPhone, with no separate sign-in.

Made for iPad and iPhone DuoRoom for more on tablets and foldables

On iPad, PushWard opens into a two-pane layout — your activities and notifications on the left, the detail on the right. On a tablet or an unfolded foldable the app moves to a navigation rail, and on a wide screen it puts the list next to the detail.

Now on iPhone Duo

Unfold it to see every activity and its details side by side. Activities, Widgets and Notifications put the list beside the detail, and folding or unfolding keeps what you had open, sheets and typed text included.

Same account, same API, works with your iPhone too

The Android app is one more client for the PushWard you may already use on iPhone, iPad or Mac.

  • One request, every phone

Updates go to every device signed in to your account, iPhone and Android alike. The relay, the bridges, Home Assistant, the CLI and the GitHub Action need no changes.

  • Sign in with Apple works here

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about sending iOS Live Activities over HTTP.

  • What is the iOS Live Activity API?

The iOS Live Activity API is how PushWard turns an HTTP request into a Live Activity on the iPhone Lock Screen and Dynamic Island. You send a small JSON payload to the REST API with your integration key, and PushWard delivers it through Apple Push Notification service - no ActivityKit code, no Xcode, and no app of your own. The Live Activities page walks through it end to end.

  • Do I need to build an app to use PushWard?

No. Install the PushWard app on your iPhone or Android phone, create an integration key, and send HTTP requests to the REST API. There are no APNs certificates, no Firebase project, no Xcode and no store review on your side - PushWard handles delivery through Apple Push Notification service and Firebase Cloud Messaging.

  • Does PushWard work on Android?

Yes. The PushWard app is on Google Play for Android 12 or later. Live Activities arrive as Android Live Updates, promoted to the top of the notification shade from Android 16 on, and notifications, home screen widgets, sharing and organizations work as on iPhone. The same API request reaches both platforms, and with Sign in with Apple one account covers both.

  • How do I start a Live Activity from a script or webhook?

Send a POST request to the PushWard API with your integration key and a small JSON payload. It appears as a Live Activity on the iPhone Lock Screen and Dynamic Island, or as a Live Update on Android, and you update or end it with follow-up requests. The getting-started guide walks through it with curl.

  • What can trigger a PushWard update?

Anything that can make an HTTP request - Grafana alerts, Home Assistant automations, GitHub Actions, SABnzbd downloads, Bambu Lab prints, or your own scripts. Ready-made bridges and a hosted webhook relay cover the most common services.

  • Is PushWard free?

There is a free tier to get started, plus yearly, family, and lifetime plans that raise the limits. Live Activities, Lock Screen widgets, notifications, and email all run through a single API.

  • How is PushWard different from ActivitySmith or Aivi?

All three deliver iOS Live Activities over HTTP, and only PushWard has an Android app, where the same request becomes a Live Update. PushWard also adds a permanent free tier, ten Live Activity templates with alarms, transactional email, critical alerts, a full widget API, a self-hostable relay with a universal webhook, and a broad set of open-source integrations. The comparison page lays out the full feature matrix.

  • Does PushWard work on iPhone Duo?

Yes. With PushWard 1.19.0 or later, unfolding iPhone Duo puts the list beside the detail in Activities, Widgets and Notifications, as on iPad. Folding or unfolding keeps the item you had open, along with any open sheet or alert and the text you were typing.
